Antique Japanese Net with Rag Woven Trim

Antique Japanese Net with Rag Woven Trim

In the 19th Century, Japanese Artisans produced the most amazing net-dyed fabric with their traditional indigo process. This netting was hung in windows and doors as a screen to protect from direct sunlight. The bold trim is a traditional style of weaving that uses recycled silk and cotton rags. This "waste not, want not" method brings fine accents to the delicate net.
